Non rubate

Non rubate la fantasia
dei giochi ai bambini,

non rubate la brillantezza
dei colori alle loro idee,

non rubate le note
alla loro voce,

non rubate la rugiada
ai loro pensieri,

non rubate la luce
al loro cammino!

DAPHNE : LAUREL

The classical gods have the same vices and the same identical virtues as ours. They forever love , they forever hate. The story of Apollo and Daphne is an history that repeats itself indefinitely.

Apollo is proud of his strength, of his courage and he mocks Eros, the god of the love, not to be equally capable. But Eros knows the ways of the revenge; Apollo loves the nymph Daphne, daughter of Gea, the earth's goddess and mother of all the beings.

Eros strikes Apollo with a golden dart, and strikes the breast of the virginal nymph with a lead dart, to extinguish every spark of love.

Apollo, is taken by ardent love, he chases the young girl who runs away, terrified to hide herself in the dense of the forest.

Daphne is defeated by the terror and by shivers of disgust, she is captured by Apollo: Daphne is desperate, tired so she begs her mother, to open the earth and to swallow her. She doesn't want suffer that imposed and violent love.

While Apollo succeeds in embracing her, Gea assists this daughter of her transforming Daphne in a strong and fair tree: a tree of laurel.

Apollo will continue to love Daphne and he will use her leaves to decorate his cither.

Still today the laurel encircles the head of the best among the men, those able of rousing adventures.
